My art is a body of work where the effects of the modern age, the
impact of technology and the industrial revolution are explored.  
Mannequins are often used for the emotionless qualities they embody,
as well as the depersonalization they imply.  
The ambiguity of the mannequins provokes the idea that anyone
viewing the work can identify with these figures.  Ironically, the
creation of these images requires technology.
My interest in creating an art that deals with social and/or political
issues, stems from my own observations and experiences of our
modern world.

In my opinion, technology is both a wonderful advancement and a
curse for the whole human race.  As human beings, increasingly
becoming introduced and bombarded with new technologies and visual
stimuli, we tend to forget that which is most important, connections
with other people, and the earth that we inhabit.

We live in a material society where things matter most and people
matter least.  I believe there is something fundamentally erroneous
with that idea, therefore I feel a necessity to visually record what I
see in the hopes that people who may view my artwork will be
reminded of this.

These images are created utilizing both traditional and digital
photography, followed by heavy manipulation in Photoshop.  Found
objects such as rust, metal, and other items are photographed to
add texture to the piece.  Sometimes, other elements of mixed
media are used, as in the piece “2020…20/20” where pastels were
applied.
